Avril Andrews is the founder of the Alcardo Andrews Foundation.

Since loosing her son to gang violence in 2005, Avril pledged to make her community in Hanover Park, a better place to live, for all.

Her organisation is addressing many of the challenges within the community of Hanover Park, in Cape Town:

i.e.

  • Through their soup kitchen, they feed around 1000 children per day. 
  • Through their hydroponic workshops, they empower people to grow their own food
  • Through their afterschool programmes, they feed, protect, and provide education around social conduct.
  • Through their support groups for mothers, and for the elderly, they provide assistance with social issues within the community of Hanover Park.

The Heart of Cape Town is immensely proud to be a community partner of Avril Andrews and the Alcardo Andrews Foundation, whose work is making a real and lasting difference in the lives of those who need it most.
