Lucinda Evans
Director | Philisa Abafazi Bethu "Heal our Women" Centre
Lucinda Evans is the founder and changemaking director of the Philisa Abafazi Bethu "Heal our Women" Centre, a pioneering organisation based in Lavender Hill, Cape Town.
Lucinda has built a sanctuary for the most vulnerable—women, children, the elderly, LGBTQIA+ persons, and men, offering protection, healing, and hope in the face of gender-based violence and social injustice.
What began as a mission to support women has grown into a dynamic, community-rooted organisation that responds directly to the evolving needs of those it serves.
Their programmes include safe houses for survivors seeking asylum, feeding schemes, after-school programmes, baby safes, and female empowerment programmes.
The Heart of Cape Town is immensely proud to be a community partner of Lucinda Evans and the Philisa Abafazi Bethu "Heal our Women" Centre, whose work is making a real and lasting difference in the lives of those who need it most.
