Moeen Ali & JP Duminy Multi-Purpose Sports Centre

Sports Project | Cape Flats, Cape Town

The Moeen Ali & JP Duminy Multi-Purpose Sports Centre Project.

A vision and mission to change the narrative in terms of opportunities, choices, and what is possible to achieve as a youth member of the Cape Flats, in Cape Town, South Africa.

The facility will allow the Cape Flats Sports Academy to effectively nurture the sporting talents of boys and girls from the Cape Flats community.

In addition to high-quality facilities, and high-quality coaching, the project will create a competitive environment where athletes from the Cape Flats can regularly show their worth to scouts from provincial and professional teams, which is ultimately the outcome we seek as a community project.

In addition to opportunities and skills-development, this project will bring immense dignity to the community members of the Cape Flats. They will have something to be extremely proud of, and they will have something to leverage when trying to create a better life for themselves and their families.

The contractors for this project will be the Natural Building Collective, and they will utilise tyres collected from waste depots, eco-bricks (plastic bottles filled with non-recyclable plastics), and film-sets crushed into bricks, to build this amazing facility, meeting regulations for health and safety, while cleaning up the planet.
