Ras Silas Motse
Afro-centric Artist
Ras Silas Motse’s art transforms broken, overlooked spaces into vibrant reflections of community pride and healing. His large-scale murals and installations reclaim public walls as places of power—honouring African heritage, sparking dialogue, and restoring dignity in areas long shaped by struggle. Through colour, symbolism, and story, his work reconnects people to their identity and invites collective healing. In communities across South Africa, his art is not decoration—it is a form of pride, identity, and hope.
Ras has been commissioned by The Heart of Cape Town to create a powerful public artwork that brings visibility to the new Goal50 ECD Centre in Heideveld. His work will not only transform the space into a landmark of community pride, but also inspire the children who attend—surrounding them with colour, identity, and a daily reminder that they are seen, valued, and full of potential.
